Overview
This set of roof bars are ideal for improving the versatility of your vehicle. A tailor made fit guarantees an exact fit for your vehicle, they also come complete with locks and keys to ensure they are secure. They also come with full instructions making installation pretty easy even for a first timer.
Design
The La Prealpina bars have a very clever design which simply works! The kit consists of two Aluminium bar with an integrated T-track system. The foot kits are designed to fit each vehicle and follow the contours of the vehicle's bodywork. They are manufactured from steel and finished with an anti-corrosion thermo-setting powder coating. The kits are covered with a durable plastic casing which houses the lock mechanism. The roof bar kit is perfect for mounting all types of accessories such as roof boxes, surf boards or bike racks. Each roof rack is rated to hold an average of 60kgs. But it’s worth checking what your vehicle’s maximum load is as it can sometimes be less than what the bars can hold. To backup the quality the bars have been tried and tested and are TUV/SUD and GS approved.
Fixed Points
This set of roof bars attaches to the original fixing points on this car, where possible we only use roofbar manufacturers that adhere to the original fixing points, it also looks better too and is a lot easier to fit, See example image to left of this, please note that this image is just an example of a fixed point kit, every fixed point system is slightly different
Security
In contrast to many of our competitors who provide weak locks and keys, or charge additional fees for them, our roof bars come equipped with high-quality metal locks and keys at no extra cost. This not only serves as a highly effective deterrent against theft, but also grants you added peace of mind.
Fitting
Because of their simple design the La Prealpina Exact-Fit bars are guaranteed an exact fit for your vehicle. This means they are really easy to install and fitting for the first time shouldn’t take more than 20-25 minutes. The Exact-fit kit is designed to follow the curvature of your vehicle (either door jamb or fixed point depending on your vehicle) so there is no getting it wrong. The bars are mounted evenly from one side to the other, making sure there is the same equal space either end. Once everything is set in place they can be tightened down with the Allen key which is provided. For extra security, there is a lock and key set provided which locks each mounting point securely to your vehicle.
Safety
Please remember that it is your responsibility to make sure that every load you are carrying is safely secured to your vehicle. You must be aware of underground car parks and all overhead obstacles, roof bars, boxes and any associated loads add extra height to your vehicle. You must also be aware of cross winds and anything else that has the ability to affect the road handling of your vehicle. You have to be particularly aware of flexible loads such as surfboards, planks of wood etc, these must be properly tethered to the front and rear of your vehicle. Roof boxes must be loaded and used with due care.

Simon I was able to track this package all the way from Ireland to Finland via DHL, that really was a bonus for me. I took about a week which is quite fast for this type of parcel. The roof bars themselves was really easy to assemble and took no time at all to fix to the car roof, maybe 30 mins in all. The only grumble that i had was that i sent two messages to the contact email address to ask if these roof bars were the correct type for my vehicle and i didn't get a reply from both emails, so luckily i saw a guy on YouTube, using this type of roof bars on a slightly older Nissan x-trail, and i decided to take a chance and order them, although i was very apprehensive, even until they were connected to my roof of my car. The bars themselves are fantastic and i will use Mick's Garage again if i need to. Guys please reply to your emails, you could have lost a sale, as we need to know if the bars will fit a particular car.
